Thank you all for the recent donations, its much appreciated :).

Now you all know we do not have to pay for our GamingAU servers, the only active PR servers in this part of Earth, but we always donate as much as we can just for the sheer fact that for some reason we are very, very, very lucky in be in that situation, PR servers chew through bandwidth like a fat kid chews through cake.
We also are using a GAU TS server...which I notice quite a few people that aren't even forum members using on a very regular basis, maybe those that bring their friends in should point them in the direction of this thread.. ;).

    Now to the point.

Its that time of the year again and the renewal query/bill from the forum host has arrived.
We have slightly less than half of what we need in the donations paypal atm, and we have contributed not alot to our server Hosts recently.
The Forum renewal is due in a few weeks so if you can help out that would be muchly appreciated.

We are looking into switching web hosts (for the forums), our current host is quite expensive compared to some other hosts , it started off cheap but due to the amount of CPU usage we now use due to enabling the embedding of videos and the sheer size of the "What are you listening to?" and "Randomness" threads the price went up a fair bit.
We may need to archive/delete most of those threads and a few others before migrating the forums to a new host, if we go down that road.

    1,851 members?

I'm betting somewhere between 1,000 and 1,751 of those members have been inactive for >12 months - is there a culling point?

And some threads are probably either bloated or no longer of relevance?

(Appreciated the culling of stale accounts / dead threads would take admin time and effort.)

Actually about three clicks to clean up users :D

There are 724 users who haven't signed in for 365 days and have 0 posts.

We've not considered actually doing a tidy up before (well that's not strictly true)... We've not seriously looked at doing a tidy up before - don't want to break things (some people might say that isn't a bad thing knowing how many times i've broke aux.| site   )

tl;dr if we decide to do about hosting is pretty irrelevant and most people wouldn't even notice - all the donations we make are put to good cause regardless.. we aint going anywhere :)

    Thanks for everybody's support

1349 members have not been here in the last 365 days.
easy to remove old users but some might come back one day.
threads are easy as well but sometime a chainsaw is not the best way to perform sugery.

BigD-ers we have half a month to go - less - and we're 45% off target - let's have a few more donations to get to the 200 mark please!

You know you want to! Even 5 would make a difference!
