It means we get a new moar powerful server to play PR on, which is moar stable and wont crash as much

All we need now is people to play on it.

    2 years to late IMHO.

you may cut me down now.

Gau are moving some Windows Servers to new hardware.
Basically just copying the files off the old and putting them on the new box.
Can't recall if i5 CPU's were around 2 years ago .... but we have been getting small upgrades every now and then for the last 5+ years.

So instead of one of these for a CPU in the server box ..

We now has one of these...

    Its shiney ! :)

The amount of Ram needed for PR servers is not high, 2gbs or there abouts is ample, might change in 1.0 but not by much.

    no there is no issue.

I accept them manually into the system as there seems to be an element within the internet that thinks its **** to mess up peoples systems and put in bogus amounts.

It just takes me a few days to check it here and the paypal account to make sure it all goes through.

    thanks for the donation.

Nice guys, it will be interesting to see what happens with the 100p server. The other 100p BETA server VM had issues beyond 70-75.

    I'm optimistic.

We will be dropping the slots to 64 if we have to.
    Hopefully we don't have to. ( < Optimism :))
Specs are good, especially the clock speed, but we are running on VM's...:not_i:

    Server #2 = i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz 3.42GHz - 1.95GB ram
    Server #1 = 17-3820 CPU @ 3.60GHz 3.60Ghz - 2.44GB ram

Ram is adequate on S#1, S#2 needs a bit more.

Other option is to actually pay for a dedi server.... It can be arranged but it will cost us .

We won't need a 100 slot server after the first month. Spank me if i'm proven wrong.

If the players are there and we can't run 100 then players will go.

How much is a dedi, and how long do you have to sign up for?

Well we didn't manage to score a Dedi, but we do have the use of a pretty decent spec Vm with nothing else running on it for a month, after that time we will need to give the current server #1 hardware back and drop back to 64 players.
I am expecting player numbers to drop off once the initial excitement dies down.

Now as most of you are aware we are not renting our servers or paying for the use of the GAU Teamspeak server, BUT........... It costs money to run servers, bandwidth also costs money and we are chewing through it like a fat kid on a cake atm.

Richard has gone out of his way to help us with hardware and we get excellent support from GAU, ie "heres my Mobile number call me if you need me..".
Not many owners of server provider companies would do what he has done for us for paying customers, let alone for people that donate what they can when they can like we do.

    WE ARE VERY LUCKY.

Without his support we would be screwed, which is why it would be nice to have a good lump of cash to send his way by the end of the month.
The Bandwidth we use is worth more than our donations target !!!!.

So ..please if you have a few dollars and a paypal account then take a moment to share the love before jumping on the servers GAU are providing ? .
Remember Richard is under no obligation to continue supporting us......

    Thanks Guys (and Girls..) :hi:

Is there a way to see how much i have donated before?
