i have a complaint in regards to map rotation and map flag layouts for all servers - sorry for my poor spelling

so i dunno why you guys are holding back on new flag layouts and maps from updates when they dont cause any issues and im sick of seeing sumari its in rotation way to much then it should be and i dont Even feel like playing anymore when it pops up compared to other maps keeping the new maps and flag layouts keeps the game fresh and seeing the same flag layouts and repeated maps in rotation is just plain boring and enoying

Yep I'm with floop. The map rotation kind of sucks at the moment. Way too much Sumari and none of the good layers are in rotation. Here's my suggested rotation:

    Yeho AAS v2
    Fools Road AAS v3
    OP First Light AAS
    Logar PAAS
    Chora PAAS
    Kokan AAS
    Kohat AAS v1
    Kohat AAS v2
    Gorodok AAS v1

We are trying to create a good system that will take in community opinions on maps for rotation however due to recent updates there have been some setbacks. Rotations are created to be balanced in maps and layers and to attempt to break up combat with different variants. You will miss maps often I'd say due to the large rotation, unless you play for 12hr everyday .

The main issue is Opfor and Blufor rotation which is more complex than it first seems, if not done correctly can lead to to team repeats

I'd personally much prefer to play as opfor/bluefor twice in a row than have to play Sumari or Logar v1 for the millionth time and miss out on the best maps in the game. Right now BigD 1 is the only server that is AAS only, the others are AAS+INS and AAS+INF, but it's missing all the good map layers and is basically just Logar, Chora and Sumari repeated over and over and over. There are no BigD servers where you can play AAS only with all the good maps in rotation. As soon as Sumari comes up on BigD 1 I disconnect and end up having to play on the US servers instead.

What are your thoughts on making one of the unused servers a trial for the rotation I suggested above (with shuffled map rotation setting turned on in the server config file) and see how people respond?

Bigd 1 and 3 have exactly the same rotation, and have nearly all AAS layers in rotation.

We can look into reducing the amount of sumari, as its in the rotation 3 times. It is far from just Logar, chora and sumari however.

There are no combined AAS+INF servers. All servers do have 1INF at the start of its rotation for seeding and to signal the end of the rotation. Its sumari INF for 1 and 3 and we can certainly look at changing that to something like kohat or logar INF.

PAAS layers are coming back in soon to I'm pretty sure.

You all want servers 1, 2 and 3 to be changed to 24/7 Sumari servers? Interesting, I though most people were over that map.

Well alright, I'll speak to Spono tonight then I guess.

You guys are a strange lot...

How did the chat with Spono go? Will we be seeing new maps/less Sumari any time soon?

Spono may or may not have run away from home and adopted a nomadic lifestyle after stress over map rotation requests..

Nah, He hasn't been online in a couple of days. Will be sure to bring it to his attention when he resurfaces :)

The logar map currently in rotation definetly needs to be swapped, it's ridiculously imbalanced against Insurgents. Nine times out of ten US is within 100m of insurgent main in the first 25 minutes. After that it's just stagnant for another 15 while ticked bleed does it's thing. I have never seen Insurgents recover from this, no matter how descent the SL's on the side were.

Indeed Yoyo. I stay at south residence if i'm SL on US to avoid the spawn camp. I would go as far as staying back at south DC in the future.

Also Chora AAS V2 is extremely unpopular, cleaned out a full server to 35 people. Suggest a different Chora layer (PAAS maybe?)

Depends on the time. If late at night e.g 1am then people just cannot be bothered to play such a large map at that time

Hey guys, can the instances of Sumari be relegated to maybe only one server? It feels like it comes up almost every three rounds or so, and even with different layers that map plays the same every time. It's just so small and bleh.

Another point I'd like to bring up is maybe have a 'huge maps only" server, such as Gorodok, Yehorivka, Kohat Valley etc. All layers. That'd be amazing. Hard to seed understandably but I dont think I've seen a server with this rotation anywhere. Logar etc are just too small and the games are always the same.

Spono's back!!! So what's the plan, are we going to be seeing changes soon? Last night was the most fun I've played on Squad in a long time - we were playing Logar PAAS, Chora PAAS, Kokan, Yeho v2, and NO SUMARI! Nobody cared whether they were opfor or blufor, we were all just stoked to finally be playing the good maps without having to deal with 150 ping when you play them on US servers. We desperately need these map rotations changed quickly.
