Just out of nerdy curiosity what's the hardware specs on the box(es) hosting the Squad servers? How much load are they under with regards to server health going red during insurgency? Any plans for adding additional or upgrading hosted boxes? If there's a whip around/donations scheme needed for upgrades to get us to the mythical 100 player limit then I'm onboard.

    Hi @Amsterdamned,

100 players is impossible with the current state of SQUAD. Simply put, major components of the base game are resource heavy and need complete replacement before anyone can host 100 players without melting a datacentre. The good news is the devs are working on replacing those major components but its going to take time.

For us, we are limited to 72 slot servers for the time being using the hardware we have is pretty decent.
The problem we have down here is cost to upgrade to a server capable of 80 players - a whole extra 8 players - we are looking at an extra $100 per month.
It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to shell out so much extra for so little gain at this point.
The cost of dedicated server hosting in Australia compared to US and EU is insane, there are groups over there with i7-6700k servers running 80 player servers for one third of the cost we run our box.

We do have a great deal with our server provider, in fact they were very happy to loan us a i7-6700k 4.00+ GHz Dedicated server during the SQUAD free weekend a couple months ago where we hosted Server 4, 5 & 6 to test the performance increase.
The results were pretty awesome to be honest and its the option we will go in the future when Squad can deploy the new Netcode and Animation systems, which they hope = 100 player servers.

    Our hardware:
    HTML:
    E3-1241v3 3.5GHz 4 cores / 8 threads (is on boost to 3.8GHz)
    16GB RAM
    240SSD + 1TB HDD
    1Gig Port
Full DDoS Protection with a 'local' network with 'external' access points
